I have been travelling and not had a chance to purchase the sim but in the alpha/beta there was no way to assign joystick settings profiles to aircraft. Click on Search by Input and move your throttle. Now click on settings and work your joystick and you will see it moving (hopefully), it will show you the axis name. When you start a flight just remember to always select the proper profile for that plane. Go into Options- Controls, make sure your joystick is highlighted and change assigned on the left to ALL. If you want the brakes to be on the same button for every plane then leave it in the default profile, if not remove it from the default profile and set it for every plane profile you create. (do this for all devices except the only one I leave is the keyboard.) Once you know that no device has the Brakes assigned, then select the device you want to assign the brakes like the yoke and select brakes and select the button. let's say I want to assign Brakes, I goto the yoke search for brakes - clear, goto joystick search for brakes - clear. The best joystick Ive ever had is a Virpil, but youre getting into expensive choices at that point, but you do get what you pay for. You do not want to have the function assigned to several buttons on different devices.įor ex. The best 'cheap' joystick would be the Thrustmaster T16000 series which comes in multiple flavors, including a variant specific to the Airbus as a kit. do a search on the flaps and clear any assignments, do the same for the button your assigning. To make your life easy, there are a cpl things you also need to keep in mind, 1) set up a profile for every plane, 2) when you assign a function like throttle or flaps for ex. Do I need to buy another HOTAS although owning a joystick and a throttle? I am really hoping that I am missing something, otherwise it feels really weird that this should not be possible. Yeah I know that, but what is the problem of using the throttle axis of that particular device instead of the T1600M? I want funktion B, I use another button on the T1600M.īut in the new flight sim, I need to choose my input device on the top, and then in the menu below where you map your controls, you seem only to be able to assign buttons from that specific device? If I choose the T1600M, go to throttle and want to assign the X-52 throttle axis, it tells me something like "You are trying to assign a button from a device that is not selected". I want funktion A I use this button on the X-52 throttle. In every other game so far (including FSX) that is no problem. I continue to use only the throttle, and pair it with a T1600M joystick. I once had an X-52 HOTAS, and the joystick broke. Simply because I was accustomed to my personal mappings to the 7 through 12 buttons on the base of the unit from my FS9/X days.īut to put your mind at ease, yes this program will work with your joystick.I just installed Flight Simulator, and I have a big problem: though the hat-witch will control cameras both inside and outside the airplane.īut they require tweaking, as does a whole bunch of other stuff that I'm not used to. However, the buttons are a different story. X axis joystick is alerons, y axis joystick is elevators, z axis joystick is rudder.Īll of those worked they way I expected, fresh off the install. Throttle is automatically mapped to the + - lever up front. The caveat is not everything is mapped the way I want it. I have a Logitech 3D Pro and I can confirm that it DOES WORK ! Do I have to do something, or does this mean I can't use it? Will they maybe add support for it in the future? Today I installed MSFS and it doesn't seem to recognize it. I have used a Logitech Force 3D Pro joystick in FSX for years.
